1. Please fill out the contact form on my website.  I will get back to you promptly. You can also send me an email, but filling out the form will be faster.

 

2. I will respond by email and ask you some questions. You will also have an opportunity to ask me questions. We will also discuss fees.

 

3. If you decide to go ahead, we will set up a phone call, which will probably last about an hour. During that call, I’ll ask you questions and learn as much as possible about your loved one. I will take notes and at the end of the conversation I will likely have a list of outstanding questions for you. We will agree on a deadline for the first draft. (Don’t worry, I can meet any deadline you set!) 

 

4. After our conversation, I will send you a short summary that  will include the fee we discussed and deadline.  My fees range from approximately  $400-$500, depending on the services I am providing. 

 

5. Using the information you’ve given me I will write the obituary. I will provide you electronically with a first draft by the agreed upon deadline. I will then make any revisions that you request. 

 

6. Once you’re satisfied, you can forward the obituary to the funeral home. I can help you with this process if you wish.
